Libby by OverDrive is an easy way to borrow and read magazines. It's available for Android, iOS (iPhone/iPad/iPod touch), and Kindle Fire. Learn more and get started with Libby.
Borrow and use magazines
- Open the app and tap
in the bottom menu to search or tap
in the bottom menu and scroll down to OverDrive Magazines to browse.
- Tap on a cover to pull up details about the magazine and the issue.
- Tap Borrow directly below the cover to check out the current issue or scroll down to find past issues. For most titles, 3 years of back issues will be available on a rolling basis.
Tips:
Tap the filter button in the top banner to apply filters such as Format, Language, or Audience.
OverDrive Magazines are always available, and do not count toward your checkout limit.
- On the next screen, tap Borrow again. When connected to WiFi, items download to the app automatically so you can read them when you're offline. You can now Open Magazine, Keep Browsing, or Go to Shelf.
If you close the app and come back later, tapin the bottom menu to find borrowed items. Next, tap the magazine cover or Open in Libby to begin reading a title.
Read magazines in Article View
The Libby app includes a new article view feature, which makes reading digital magazines more interactive and enjoyable!
- Open a borrowed magazine.
- Tap the center of the screen to hide the timeline.
- Select Read The Article (or Articles) near the bottom of the reader.
- If there are multiple articles on a page, select which one to read from the list.
