Once a suggestion is approved and ordered, there are various factors that may affect the fulfillment of the order, including processing time, shipping, and receipt. Digital formats often have shorter processing times and may become available before the physical versions. Due to publisher restrictions, not all eBook and audiobook titles are available for digital library lending. Additionally, there is a chance that the vendor will cancel an ordered item due to insufficient stock or if the publisher withdraws licensing rights.

Suggestions for certain formats and languages may require additional time due to unique ordering logistics. Due to these factors, the Library cannot guarantee a specific time frame for when an item will become available for checkout. If an approved suggestion does not appear as On Order in the catalog after two months, it is likely that the item has become unavailable for purchase.

Print books may be requested through Interlibrary Loan from other library systems if a copy is not purchased for the Library. Please see the Library’s Interlibrary Loan service for additional information. Other media may be available through the Texas State Library and Archives Commission Interlibrary Loan service.
