Items may be returned to the Central Library or any Austin Public Library branch, regardless of where you checked them out. All library locations have outside book drops for returning items when the branch is closed. Please note: The Austin History Center and Recycled Reads do not have book drops and items cannot be returned to these locations.
The following locations have drive-up book drops: Carver, Cepeda, Hampton Branch at Oak Hill, Menchaca Road, Milwood, North Village, Ruiz, Southeast, Spicewood Springs, Twin Oaks, Windsor Park, and Yarborough.
The Central Library and the Milwood Branch have automated Intelligent Return machines that immediately check in items returned, using the actual date and time returned.
