Central Library Parking Garage
The Central Library features two levels of underground parking with 140 public parking spaces, including 7 ADA Handicapped Parking spaces near the garage entrance and elevators into the library and 8 Electric Vehicle spaces in level P1. The entrance to the garage is on West Avenue.
The parking garage opens at 9:30 AM. Parking is not validated.
The prices are as follows:
Up to 1 hour – Free
Over 1 hour to 2 hours – $5
Over 2 hours to 4 hours – $9
Over 4 hours to 7 hours - $11
Over 7 hours to 10 hours – $13
Over 10 hours to 12 hours – $15
Over 12 hours – $30
After the daily maximum of $30 has been reached, the meter resets for the next day and begins accruing fees again according to the fee structure listed above.
There is a payment kiosk on the 2nd floor that will accept credit card payments only:
The nearby Gables Garage (located on Electric Drive just west of Walter Seaholm Drive) and City Hall Garage (entrance located on Guadalupe Street between W. 2nd St. and W. Cesar Chavez St.) do not give free time but otherwise have comparable rates.
There is metered street parking on nearby streets and in a small lot on Cesar Chavez Street across from the Library. The cost is $1.20 per hour for a maximum of 3 hours. Meters are enforced:
Monday–Tuesday: 8 AM – 6 PM
Wednesday–Friday: 8 AM – Midnight
Saturday: 11 AM – Midnight
Sunday: Not enforced (Street parking is free.)
