All OverDrive books require an internet connection to get started. If you download a title to the app in the EPUB or MP3 format, or you choose the Kindle book format that you download and read with the Kindle app, after the download is complete you can go offline and still enjoy your book.
OverDrive Read allows you to read the book in an internet browser. This normally requires a constant connection, but you can also enable offline access. Learn more:

Please note: OverDrive Listen allows you to listen to audiobooks in your browser but it does not have an offline access option. Additionally, all movies are streaming—you must have a constant web connection to watch an OverDrive video.
