The free software Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) is required if you want to download OverDrive eBooks or audiobooks onto your PC or Mac. ADE requires you to activate it either anonymously or with an Adobe ID. Using an Adobe ID and password lets you do more with your eBooks like transfer them to a Sony Reader, nook, or other device.
Go here to get an Adobe ID and click Create an account. Follow the instructions and then use that ID and password when the software asks for it.
