For Books:

  1. Search the Library's catalog.

  2. Locate the drop-down menu next to Search by, and select Subject.

Option to search by Subject is selected. Keywords "French language materials" is entered in the search box.
 

  1. In the search box, enter the language you want, followed by language materials (example: French language materials). Click Search.

  2. After the search results appear, use the Filter your search by... menu on the left to narrow your search by audience, format or library location. Under the option for Content, you can narrow your search to fiction or nonfiction titles.

 

For DVDs:

  1. Search the Library's catalog.

  2. Locate the drop-down menu next to Search by, and select Keyword.

Option to search by Keyword is selected. Keywords "French film dvd" is entered in the search box.
 

  1. In the search box, type the language you want, followed by film DVD (example: French film dvd). Click Search.

  2. You may want to try one of these other searches as well, most languages or countries will work (France and French are used as examples):
    • Search by Subject in the drop-down menu, and type foreign films and France.
    • Search by Keyword in the drop-down menu, and type "French with English subtitles" in quotation marks.
    • Search by Keyword in the drop-down menu, and type "French dialogue" in quotation marks.
