Unfortunately we're unable to configure the system to allow renewals on items with holds, even when there are copies showing as available on the circulating shelves. The system tries to fill the hold with the first copy that is handled by someone, be it an online renewal or someone pulling a copy that's out on the shelf.
You can call the APL Customer Service Office at 512-974-7475, and we can try to call a library location reporting to have an available copy. If that location finds the title, they will trigger the hold to unblock your renewal attempt.
The Customer Service Office is open Monday thru Thursday from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. / Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
