Please check with the Austin Public Library branch where you turned in your Interlibrary Loan (ILL) book to see if library staff there can locate the item. Ask them to check their non-Austin Public Library material shelf (for when customers accidentally return items that belong to other libraries). If the ILL paperwork on your ILL book was removed or fell off, staff may not have recognized it as an ILL item that needs to be cleared from an account and sent to the ILL office at the Central Library. They might have thought it was simply a non-APL item accidentally dropped off at APL.
If library staff do not locate the item, they will initiate a system-wide search for it.
