To view your place in line for a hold, follow the instructions below:
- Go to My APL: Holds.
- If prompted, log in.
- Locate the item. If you don't see it, select All.
- Your hold position is listed on the right of or below the item.
The speed at which your request moves up the holds queue depends on two factors:
- The number of copies of the item that we own.
- When customers return their copies of the item. Customers cannot renew items that have holds on them, so in theory they have a maximum of 3 weeks with the item. However, they may return it sooner or choose to keep it longer and pay overdue fines.
If the Library owns only a few copies of the item and they are all checked out, it may take some time for your copy to become available.
