- Go to My APL: Holds.
- If prompted, log in.
- Locate the item. If you don't see it, select All.
- Your hold position is listed on the right of or below the item.
The speed at which your request moves up the holds queue depends on two factors: the number of copies that we own, and how soon customers that currently have the item checked out return their copies. Customers cannot renew items that have holds on them, so in theory they have a maximum of 3 weeks with the item. However, they may return it sooner or choose to keep it longer and pay overdue fines.
If the Library owns only a few copies of the item and they are all checked out, it may take some time for your copy to become available.
