Many branch locations have magazine exchange tables or racks where customers can leave donated magazines—typically current ones—for others to take and enjoy. Branches with magazine exchange tables include Howson, Little Walnut Creek, Menchaca Road, Milwood, North Village, Old Quarry, Ruiz, St. John, Southeast, Spicewood Springs, Twin Oaks, Willie Mae Kirk, Windsor Park, and Yarborough. The Central Library and Recycled Reads do not offer magazine exchange.
Magazine exchange tables' inventory can vary widely. It is recommended that you call the branch you're interested in visiting before going to get current information about its magazine table.
Donations are for free exchange only; we do not add donations to the collection. Schools and churches may also accept magazine donations. Goodwill or Savers may be other alternatives.
