The Austin Public Library is funded through the City of Austin's annual budget. See more details about the city's and the Library's budget.
The Library is funded through the City’s general fund, which is comprised of City property taxes, sales tax, transfers from Austin Energy and Austin Water as well as other fines, fees and charges. Property taxes paid to Travis County rather than the City of Austin do not cover Library services.
